Sabria Dean, 2020 Mineola High School graduate and outstanding basketball player for the Lady Jackets, is wrapping up her collegiate career at Lamar University in Beaumont.

The Lady Cardinals were set to play an as undetermined opponent in the Southland Conference tournament on Wednesday, with the hopes of advancing to the NCAA tournament with a conference championship.

The Lady Cardinals finished with a 17-3 conference record, second to Southeast Louisiana at 19-1.

The two teams drew byes in the first two rounds of the tournament.

Dean finished as the leading scorer this season with 13.9 points per game while averaging 33 minutes per contest, also tops on the team.

She had 4.2 rebounds, 2.3 assist and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 44% field goals (150-338), 85% free throws (68-80) and 38.7% three pointers (36-93).

She is pursuing the possibility of playing professional ball in Europe.
