Donald Lee Honeycutt Sr., 1937-2021

Donald Lee Honeycutt Sr., 84, went to be with the Lord at 10:45 p.m. on Sept. 28, 2021. 

Donald was born on June 11, 1937 in High Point, N.C. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sara Honeycutt; his first wife, Alice Honeycutt; daughter, Donna Pierce; son, Donald L. Honeycutt Jr.; and two granddaughters, Melissa Susan and Amanda LeAnne. 

Donald was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, and the best “Papa Grape.” He served in the military for 22 years. He also worked several jobs after retiring from the military. Donald loved the Lord and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Quitman. He enjoyed collecting coins, working in his shed and fishing. 

Donald is survived by his second wife, Patricia Lou Honeycutt; his children, Terri Brown of Altus, Okla., Anne Bean of Quitman, Deborah Honeycutt of Riverview, Fla. and Frank Honeycutt of Duncan, Okla. He also had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

Funeral service for Mr. Honeycutt was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Tim Nall officiating. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. He was laid to rest at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2021 at East Hill Cemetery in Roff, Okla. with full military honors. 

Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Jason Smith, Matthew Knighten, Jonathon Knighten, Gaige Zenns, Steve Bean, Jesse Brown and Landon Knighten.
