Drive seeks to secure needed women’s health care products to be distributed locally

Cassandra Sampson of Mineola has put out “A call to donate to women’s health.”

She is raising awareness about an unmet need in the community – women’s sanitary products.

Sampson has set a goal to raise donations to purchase at least 1,000 packs of healthier sanitary pads to be distributed to women and girls in the community.

Sampson, who serves on the Mineola city council as well as wearing many other volunteer hats, has been a certified community healthcare worker, where she learned of the need for these items.

“There is a great need for these products,” Sampson said, adding that some females do not have access, especially in families with multiple female members. “We want to make a difference to bridge the gap.”

The drive will continue through May 26.

Donations can be sent to 421 E. Broad St., Ste. 4, Box 30, Mineola TX 75773 in care of Sampson.

The products will then be distributed through the Kindness Kottage, Bread of Life food ministry, Mineola school campuses and Arms of Hope.

Sampson explained that donations will be used to purchase a healthier style of products, so please do not donate actual products.

Anyone who would like to assist Sampson in seeking donations can leave her a message at 903-243-9417.
