Early voting in the spring party primaries gets underway Monday, Feb. 14 in the Wood County elections office in Quitman.

The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with Saturday voting on the 19th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The office will be closed Monday, Feb. 21 for Presidents’ Day and will reopen Tuesday at 8 a.m., with early voting continuing through Friday, Feb. 25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will not be early voting in any other locations.

On Election Day, Tuesday, March 1, voters should cast their ballots at their respective voting precincts.

Democrats and Republicans will be sharing polling locations.

There are no local candidates on the Democratic ballot.

The local races on the Republicans side include county judge, commissioners for Precincts Two and Four, Justice of the Peace in Precinct Three and district attorney.

County clerk, district clerk and county treasurer candidates are unopposed, as are the other three justices of the peace.

Ballots will also include all of the major statewide offices.

Wood County’s state representative is also a contested race in the Republican primary.
