Early voting continues in Yantis ISD election
Early voting continues through Sept. 27 for voters in the Yantis school district.
Voting hours are weekdays from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Yantis ISD administration office, 105 W. Oak.
Voting day is Tuesday, Oct. 4 and is also held at the YISD office from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Applications for ballots by mail are accepted until Sept. 23, also at 105 W. Oak, Yantis TX 75497.
Voters are being asked to approve the purchase of attendance credits from the state to satisfy requirements of mandatory recapture.
The district is considered property wealthy and falls under the provisions of the state’s Robin Hood school finance plan, whereby wealthy districts send some of their tax revenues to the state to support property poor districts.
Voters countywide may participate in the Nov. 8 general election. The last day to register to vote is Oct. 11 and the final day to apply for a ballot by mail is Oct. 28. Early voting gets underway on Oct. 24.
There will be no local races on the ballot, as only Republican candidates are seeking county offices.
