Event to focus on school vouchers fight

As the battle over private school vouchers intensifies in the Texas legislature, a meeting next week in Wood County will focus on the topic.

It is being hosted at the Cartwright Community Center (the old Cartwright school) in partnership with the public education advocacy group Raise Your Hand Texas March 27 from 6-7:30 p.m., 247 County Road 4896, Winnsboro.

Representatives of all six Wood County school districts are participating.

Deann Lee, retired superintendent and regional advocate for Raise Your Hand Texas, will be presenting the latest legislative update with the major bills impacting public education.
