Events benefit Mineola skatepark

Two events this week  benefit the Mineola Community Skatepark.

Community stakeholders are invited to a meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (across the street from the skatepark).

A coalition or non-profit is in the formation stages to support the needs of under-served youth who utilize this park as a place of belonging.

Every community member has a different gift, and all community stakeholders are welcome to participate.

A work day is planned Saturday at 10 a.m. to make some minor repairs and do some spring cleaning.

Bring work gloves, small lawn equipment (rakes, shovels, pruning shears), tools for minor ramp repairs and donations of pipe or rail to be installed as skating obstacles.
