Filing period to begin for city councils, school boards
Filing for city council and school board elections begins on Wednesday, Jan. 15 for 30 days until Friday, Feb. 14.
The election will be held on Saturday, May 3.
The following positions in Wood County will be decided, with the incumbents listed.
School Boards (three-year terms)
Alba-Golden: Matt Haisten, Dwayne Ellis
Hawkins: Scott McKamie, Tyler Turrentine, Ashey Conner
Mineola: Glen Dossett, Janice Etheridge, Jill Quiambao
Quitman: Raymond Peek, Todd Williams
Winnsboro: Brandon Green, Billy Saucier
Yantis: April Johnson, Jeff Quinn
City Councils (two-year terms)
Alba: The vacant mayor’s seat is up for election and council members Debbie Shaddox and Tammy Kelbe.
Hawkins: Clara Clay, Council Place 2; Eleta Talor, Place 4; Greg Branson, Place 5.
Mineola: Mayor Jayne Lankford and council members Terry Eaton (Ward One), Jack Newman (Ward Two) and Mitch Tuck (Ward Three).
Quitman: Mayor Randy Dunn and council members Brad Medlin and David Hobbs.
Winnsboro: Council members Brenda Morey, Trevor King.
Yantis: Yantis Mayor Trey Norris and council members Julie Mattox and Reed Gammill.
