Food bank serves more than 14,000 famililes

East Texas Food Bank distributions for 2025 have been announced for Quitman and Mineola.

Quitman dates: (third Wednesdays) Jan. 15, Feb. 19, March 19, April 16, May 21, June 18, July 16, Aug. 20, Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 19 and Dec. 17.

Mineola dates: (last Thursdays except November-December) Jan. 30, Feb. 27, March 27, April 24, May 29, June 26, July 31, Aug. 28, Sept. 25, Oct. 30, Nov. 20*, Dec. 31*

There are no eligibility requirements, paper work or identification required.

Distribution is from 10-11:30 a.m. or while supplies last.

During 2024 some 14,177 Wood County families were served, with 6,744 in Quitman and 7,434 in Mineola.

Since distributions began in December 2021 in Quitman and October 2022 in Mineola, 32,745 Wood County families were served, 18,259 in Quitman and 14,486 in Mineola.

During the most recent distributions, 808 families were served at the Mineola location and 733 at Quitman. Mineola’s December event was canceled due to weather.
