Four-time all-stater earns Buzz award
Mineola High School senior Emily Miller has one more accolade to add to her list of achievements.
The Mineola School Board recognized Miller as the recipient of the monthly Buzz’s Ultimate Effort Award at the April 28 school board meeting.
Miller was named to the all-state band this year to complete earning all-state honors all four years of high school – the first Mineola student to achieve this honor.
She was also the first chair flute at the all-state band concert in February, making her the top flute player in the state for Conferences 1A through 4A.
The board also recognized the following students and staff members of the month from each campus:
Primary, first graders Mila Foley and Kasen Manley and cafeteria manager Twanna Foley.
Intermediate, fifth graders Leonardo Cortez and Emilee Canaday and fourth grade science teacher Madison Brooks.
Middle school, eighth graders Wyatt Salonen and Olivia Thompson and music teacher Ty Templeton.
High school, seniors Camila Delgadillo, Christian Thomas and Collette Harle, theater teacher Bryant Cox and front office staffer Pauline Windle.
