Glenn Savage of Mineola passed away on Sept. 11, 2024 at age 90. He was born on April 8, 1934 to William Eastland “Ethyl” Savage and Goldie Irene Savage. Glenn was born and raised in the Pine Mills community and remained a lifetime resident of Wood County.

Glenn married the love of his life, Betty Skinner Savage, on Dec. 30, 1961 at Humble Baptist Church in Mineola. The pair spent over 60 memorable years together, creating countless memories.

Glenn spent over four decades working as a supervisor for Buddy Schoellkopf, showcasing dedication and commitment in all he did. He found peace in his faith as a long-time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Quitman. In his spare time, Glenn enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, often found fishing or spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. One of his treasured memories was preparing stew on the banks of Sandy Creek surrounded by his family.

His family was the pride and joy of his life, and his greatest accomplishment was creating happy memories and instilling strong values in his loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethyl Savage and Goldie Irene Savage; and three brothers, Hal Savage, Truman Savage and Melvin Savage.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Betty Savage of Mineola; two children, Marvin Savage and wife Pam of Mineola, and Roland Savage and wife Kathlene of Pine Mills; sister, Marilyn Huff of Mineola; five grandchildren, Amanda, Lindsey, Steven, Nicole and Lacey; and four great-grandchildren, Levi, Savannah, Carter and Sophia.
