Gloria June McDougald, 1932-2022

The precious jewel in our family, Gloria June McDougald, of Mineola closed her eyes and entered into glory on Feb. 14, 2022. June was born to the late Joseph Arris and Ethel (Bryant) McCarley in Quitman. She was a life-long resident of the area having graduated from Quitman High School and attended for a time East Texas Teacher’s College in Commerce. June was a bank teller for 33 years at Mineola Community Bank. She was quick with a smile for the customers she served and was a reliable employee for the bank. Mrs. McDougald was a 50-plus years member of the First Baptist Church of Mineola. She was active in the church nursery, tending to hundreds of children as if they were her own. June loved cooking a delicious meal for her family and giving kisses and hugs to her grandbabies. June was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Leonard McCarley. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Charles McDougald; sons, James McDougald and wife Chris and Jason Redding and wife Mindy; daughter, Elaine Dower and husband Gary; grandchildren, Jacob McCaslin, Lara McDougald and Claire McDougald; and great-grandchildren, Calem Redding and Canyon Redding. The funeral was held Saturday, Feb. 19 at the First Baptist Church in Mineola, Bro. Cody Mize officiant. Those serving as pallbearers were Jason Redding, Calem Redding, Jim Bowker, Gordon Tiner, Gary Dower and Eddie McDougald. Mrs. McDougald was interred at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola.
