The Quitman Bulldogs faced off against the Grand Saline Indians Friday in their final district game of the season at Bud Moody Stadium.

The Indians wasted no time, driving downfield in the opening minutes to score a touchdown, followed by a successful extra point, to take a quick 7-0 lead.

Quitman struggled to find its footing early, forced to punt after failing to convert on 4th down.

Grand Saline capitalized, scoring another touchdown and adding the extra point to stretch their lead to 14-0 by the end of the first half, as turnovers plagued both teams on a wet field.

Quitman opened the second half with the ball but couldn’t find a way past Grand Saline’s defense, ultimately punting it away. The Indians took advantage once again, making their way to the end zone for six more points and securing an extra point to push the score to 21-0.

Despite both teams trading turnovers throughout the second half, Grand Saline capped off their performance with one final touchdown and extra point, sealing a 28-0 victory.

This marks the end of Quitman’s season, falling just one win shy of a potential playoff spot with a 2-4 district record. They finished the season at 3-7.

Grand Saline secured the district title with the win and a perfect 10-0 regular season. They face Hooks for bidistrict Friday in Pittsburg.
