Greg Taylor 1968-2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Greg Taylor, a man who brought joy, love and kindness to everyone he met.

Gregory Wayne Taylor was born in Irving to parents Gary and Brenda Taylor on Dec. 18 1968.  Greg was an active child who always had to have someone to play with. This made him great at meeting people so he never had to play alone. Greg as a child lived in Irving; Nashville, Tenn.; Mesquite; and Quitman, where he graduated from high school in 1987. He was active in sports throughout his life in fishing, football and baseball. Greg (from the time he was five years old) loved fishing!

Greg found peace and happiness bass fishing on Lake Fork, watching the sunrise every day and seeing the doe walk the pasture in the evening. He was a proud fan of the Texas Longhorns, sharing his love for the team with friends and family during their seasons.

Greg worked in the oil patch his entire career, from Medlin Electric to DNOW oil supplies.

Known for a warm heart and helping hand, Greg never met a stranger. He believed in the power of kindness and was always ready to support those around him.

Greg’s friends would tell you that if he called you, get ready for long conversation because he did love to talk! Greg was as good of a son as you could ask for, and we love and will miss him very much.

Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Bonnie Frost and G.W. and Bobbie Taylor, and nephew, Zander Bates.

Greg leaves behind his children, Elizabeth Taylor and Garrett Taylor; parents, Gary and Brenda Taylor; brothers, Jeff Taylor and wife Shanna and Matt Taylor and wife Katie; god sister, Christine and husband Mike Gallagher; his beloved nieces, Katlyn Neighbors (Trey), Molli Bates (Jordan), Abbi and Alex Taylor, Shelby Hayes, Emori Bates, Mary Caroline, Mackenzie and Harper Neighbors, and last but not least Hanna Bates; nephews, Will Gallagher, Brandon Hayes, Jonathan Hayes and Austin Hayes; special friend Shana; and many, many friends.

We would like to thank Christus Mother Frances for their kindness through his illness.

Visitation for Gregory Wayne Taylor will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
