Guilty pleas heard in 26 Wood County criminal cases

The Wood County district attorney’s office prosecuted 26 criminal cases through guilty pleas in 402nd District Court during August. 

Among those sentenced in district court were as follows:

Randy Ray Price was convicted of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and sentenced to five years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Institutional Division (TDCJ), $2,500 fine and court costs.

The probation of Daniel Alvarez Santoya was revoked for assault causes bodily injury family violence and sentenced to one year in the Wood County Jail and the remaining balance of court costs. Santoya was also convicted of assault causes bodily injury of family/household member with prior conviction and sentenced to three years in TDCJ with a $1,000 fine plus court costs.

Shelby Elayne Adams was convicted of assault causes bodily injury of family/household member with previous conviction and sentenced to four years in TDCJ, $1,000 fine and court costs.

Cristy Dawn Batchelor was convicted of possession of a controlled substance penalty group (PG) 1, less than one gram and was sentenced to two years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice State Jail Division probated for five years, $2,000 fine plus court costs.

Alex Anson Braswell was convicted of possession of a controlled substance PG 1, less than one gram and sentenced to five years deferred adjudication community supervision; $1,500 fine; $180 reimbursement fee plus court costs.

Jed Anthony Shadix was convicted of evading arrest detention with vehicle and sentenced to five years in TDCJ probated for five years, $2,000 fine plus court costs.

Geoffrey Wade English was convicted of evading arrest/detention with vehicle and sentenced to seven years in TDCJ, $2,000 fine and court costs.

Tavian Dewayne Tave was convicted of forgery of a financial instrument and sentenced to three years deferred adjudication community supervision along with a $500 fine, restitution of $172 and court costs.

The probation of Richard Wayne Walters was revoked for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and sentenced to one year in state jail and the remaining balances of fines and court costs.

Tammy Lee Young was convicted of possession of a controlled substance PG 1, less than one gram and sentenced to two years deferred adjudication community supervision, $1,000 fine plus reimbursement fee of $180 and court costs.

Anita Fay Britton was convicted of burglary of a building and sentenced to three years deferred adjudication community supervision along with a $500 fine, restitution of $580 plus court costs.

James Leon David was convicted of sex offenders duty to register and sentenced to 12 months in state jail, $2,000 fine and court costs.

Jacob Neil Davis was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault on a peace officer/judge and was sentenced to 14 years in TDCJ in each case plus $5,000 fine and court costs. Davis was also convicted of evading arrest/detention with a vehicle and sentenced to eight years in TDCJ plus court costs.

Christopher Allen Winkle was convicted of tampering/ fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair and sentenced to three years in TDCJ probated for three years plus a $1,000 fine and court costs.

The probation of David William Wilson was revoked for assault causes bodily injury and sentenced to six months in the Wood County Jail and the remaining balance of court costs.

Richard Rice Brasher was convicted of criminal mischief $2,500 or more but less than $30,000 and sentenced to two years in state jail probated for three years plus an $800 fine, restitution of $6,620 and court costs.

The probation of Penny Renee Morris was revoked for theft of property less than $2,500 with two or more previous convictions and sentenced to 15 months in state jail and the remaining balance of fines and court costs.

The probation of Capret Laprice Ross was revoked for theft of property less than $2,500 with two or more previous convictions and sentenced to one year in state jail and the remaining balance of fines and court costs.

Falon Leann Honea was convicted of possession of a controlled substance PG 1, less than one gram and sentenced to five years deferred adjudication community supervision; $1,500 fine; reimbursement fee of $180 plus court costs.

Irving Nazaet Rodriguez was convicted of possession of a controlled substance PG 1, less than one gram in a drug free zone and was sentenced to two years in state jail probated for four years; $1,000 fine; reimbursement fee of $180 plus court costs.

Ricky Jo Hitt was convicted of theft of property $2,500 or more but less than $30,000 and sentenced to two years in state jail probated for five years plus $2,000 fine and court costs.

Leon Brashon Jackson was convicted of burglary of a habitation and sentenced to 10 years in TDCJ probated for five years along with a $1,000 fine, restitution of $1,946 plus court costs.
