Helping hands
The Crafty Christians is a group of women supported by the First United Methodist Church of Quitman and by the Liberty Methodist Church near Quitman. The mission of the group is to utilize their sewing talents to provide quilts to those in need, whomever they may be. The group regularly sends quilts to the Linus Project, and, in this instance, for the Rainbow Room in Quitman. Priscilla Massey, one of The Craft Christians, donated a quilt she had made that was raffled to raise money for the Rainbow Room. The effort raised $900. Donna Benge (left, in center) presents a check to Sally Attaway, representing the Rainbow Room (right, center). Other members of both groups observing the donation (left to right) are JoAnna Nelson, Priscilla Massey, Teddy Shampine, Benge, Attaway, Sandy Narkiewicz and Robert Kramer. (Courtesy photo)
