The Texas Historical Commission awarded a 2023 Distinguished Service Award to the Wood County Historical Commission, presented at last week’s Wood County commissioners meeting. This annual award affirms Wood County for exemplary initiation and execution of comprehensive programs that preserve Texas’s diverse historic and cultural resources. The commission has earned the award every year since 2002 except ‘05.
