Holly Brook Baptist resuming gatherings about memory care

Refresh & Reminisce (R&R) is replacing Memory Café, a free monthly gathering for people with memory loss and their care companion in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

It resumes April 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at Holly Brook Baptist Church, Hawkins, in the parlor. Bring a favorite coffee mug. R&R is open communitywide to those interested.

Volunteers will host refreshments of muffins, coffee and tea as participants spend time “Getting to Know You” – which is all about reminiscing. Music is a big part of this time and even some competitive coffee mug challenges.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
