It’s for the children
The Tips for Tots benefit for Wood County Child Welfare Board was a huge success Monday night in Quitman, as all 500 seats were sold out for the catfish buffet provided by AJ’s Fish House at the Carroll Green Civic Center. Area ministers served as the volunteer waiters, raising tips for the children. Auctioneer Shannon Davis kept the bids lively for several donated items, and drawings were held for a number of other prizes. The fundraiser had to be canceled in 2020. It raises money for children who have come under Child Protective Services after being removed from their homes.
