Jane Amanda Guyler Wylie, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Jane was born on Jan. 22, 1938 in San Antonio to Priscilla and Bob Guyler.

Jane grew up in Crystal City, where she graduated high school and was a member of the basketball team and cheerleading squad. She attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, where she was a proud member of the Tri Delta sorority. Upon graduation she taught Spanish in middle school. Jane made her home in Dallas until 1999 when she moved to Mineola.

In 1960 Jane married Randall Lee Wylie from Ennis. They had two children, Randall and Priscilla.

Jane enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was the consummate hostess. She loved cooking and entertaining for all those she loved. Jane was most known for her wonderful Swedish Tea Rings that she would give to her family and friends during the Christmas season. When she wasn’t in the kitchen, Jane could be found on the golf course, riding horses or cheering on the Texas A&M football team. She looked forward to going on her annual girls’ trip with her sister and close friends. This past year marked their 35th year traveling together. Spending time with her four beautiful granddaughters always brought her joy. She taught them how to ride horses, attended their sporting events, passed down the art of homemaking, and instilled in them the importance of being kind to others.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Priscilla and Bob Guyler of Lampasas. She is survived by her son, Randall L. Wylie, Jr. and wife Michelle Wylie of Keller; her daughter, Priscilla Brown of Dallas; her grandchildren, Ashley Soukup and husband Price Soukup of Denver, Colo., Hillary Wylie of Houston and Amanda and Alicia Brown of Dallas; her sister and best friend, Judy Guyler Lansford of Lampasas; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

There will be a memorial service held for Jane on Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. at The Church of Saint Dunstan, 800 N. Johnson St., Mineola. Interment will be in Lampasas at a later date.

The family would like to thank everyone who has shared in Jane’s beautiful life journey. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Luke’s FastBreaks, the American Cancer Society or The Church of Saint Dunstan in Mineola.
