John Wynn Trent 1950-2022

John Wynn Trent, 72, of Hainesville passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022, peacefully surrounded by his family.

John was born in Kansas City, Kan. on Jan. 9, 1950 to James Roy and Anna Leatha (VonFridley) Trent. John married the love of his life, Pamela Jo Lindley, on Oct. 7, 1968. Together, John and Pamela had three children, Chad, Molly and Guy.

John provided for his family working in the oil business and became an expert in wireline services and drilling processes finishing his career as a consultant. His work also took him and his family abroad spending several years in Norway. John and Pam returned to Northeast Texas in 1986, eventually settling on the family farm in Hainesville.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Pamela Jo Trent of Hainesville; three children, Chad Trent and wife Denise of Hainesville, Molly Birch and husband Donald of Frankston and Guy Trent of Hainesville; siblings, Dortha Odom and husband Moon, Roy Trent and wife Sandy, Sue Gilchrist and husband Robert and Jimmy Thomas and Vonnie Anderson; grandchildren, Kelsie Marsh and husband Donte, Trent Williams and wife Ragen, Emily Gibson and husband Quinton, Eden Marlow and husband Colt, Ashton Trent, Lindley Trent and Tommy Trent; great-grandchildren, Gabriella Grace Lindley, Isabella Hope Lindley, Brooklynn Ann Williams, Olivia Trent Williams and Rip Michael Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for John was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Hainesville Baptist Church with Brother Terry Davis officiating. Graveside service followed at Concord Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
