Kiwanis awards Art Gould
Art Gould, a 24-year member of the Kiwanis Club of Mineola, was honored at the annual District Convention of Texas-Oklahoma Kiwanis in Denton Saturday, July 26 as the lay person of the year.
It’s an award given each year during a Human and Spiritual Aims session. Art was selected among applicants from all Kiwanis clubs throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Several members of the local club submitted letters supporting the nomination as friends who have observed his many contributions to the service of mankind in the Mineola area.
Highlighting these were his work with the Bread of Life food pantry, Caring and Sharing, Meals on Wheels, distribution of free back-to-school supplies, numerous services to his church, First Methodist Church of Mineola, and his dependability at showing up at many events in the worthy service to the community.
He was previously recognized as the Humanitarian and Man of the Year at annual Chamber of Commerce citizen award events.
