The Quitman Lady Bulldogs defeated Edgewood last Friday 44-33 to hold onto second place in the district basketball standings with a 6-1 district record, a game behind Malakoff. Quitman hosted Malakoff Tuesday night in a game that could decide the district championship. The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to face Winona on Friday, but the school has not been fielding a girls varsity team. Next up for Quitman is hosting Eustace on the 28th before concluding the regular season at Mineola Jan. 31 and hosting Grand Saline Feb. 4. Above, Sadie VanderSchaaf lays-up a shot at Edgewood.
