Lady Bulldogs stay in the hunt with lopsided win over Winona
The Quitman Lady Bulldogs banged their way back into the District 13-3A softball race with a resounding 19-0 win over Winona Friday evening as Reiny Luman held the Lady Wildcats hitless. Quitman is 3-3 in district action.
The goal for Quitman is to make the playoffs.
“I really believe we should have beaten a couple of those teams we lost to earlier in district,” Head Coach Allison Head said. “Hopefully, next round we will win at least three and hope to win more than that to make it to the playoffs.”
At Winona, Quitman recorded 12 hits led by Alexis O’Neal, Sofia Tannebaum, Ashley Davis and Addie Marcee with two each. Marcee and Tannebaum each had triples while Davis added a home run to the Lady Bulldog arsenal. Davis led the team with four RBI while Tannebaum added three RBI.
Quitman took a 15-0 lead in the top of the first and never looked back.
