Larry Coventry, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, went to be with the Lord Friday afternoon, Nov. 26, 2021 at age 80.

Larry David Coventry, better known as “Cov,” was born in Duncan, Okla. on Sept. 5, 1941 and was adopted by the late Frank and Inez Coventry. He was one of eight siblings. Larry graduated from Sunset High School in 1959 and attended and graduated from North Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in business and accounting. He laid bricks while in college to help pay for his tuition and later worked at Lincoln Properties in Dallas. In 1974 he made the move from Dallas to Holly Lake Ranch, where he was the controller for nearly 10 years. It was at his home in Holly Lake Ranch where he married the love of his life, Regina.

In 1982 Larry and Regina established their accounting practice on the square in Quitman, where he was a certified public accountant and certified financial planner. Soon after opening the practice, they moved to Quitman. Larry enjoyed visiting with and getting to know each of his clients and always loved learning where each person came from.

Larry loved to work on his lawn, play tennis and was the biggest Aggie fan. He also enjoyed traveling, reading and watching the Dallas Cowboys play. He was a Christian and met frequently with a small group at the Quitman Public Library.

Larry has been reunited with his parents, Frank and Inez Coventry; two sisters, Patsy Thomas and Barbara Marsh; and one brother, Gene Armistead.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of nearly 47 years, Regina Coventry of Quitman; four sons, Jeff Coventry and wife Debra of Arkadelphia, Ark., Brian Coventry and wife Jenny of Lindale, Ryan Coventry of Quitman and Zac Coventry and wife Katie of Harlingen; four siblings, Shirley Newby, Mary Sue Butler, Donna Morton and Jim Coventry; five grandchildren, Sam, Kelsey, Ava, Kezia and Phineas; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and many friends.
