Larry David Pack 1948-2025
Larry David Pack passed away on June 6, 2025. He was born on June 17, 1948 in Tyler to James and Ruth Pack.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a business owner, rancher, Shriner and had a servant heart. He and Virginia enjoyed attending their grandchildren’s numerous FFA, school and sporting events, while also finding time to travel the world to such places as Nova Scotia, South America, Alaska and Europe. Larry was proud to be a part of the Sharon Shrine Temple, St. John’s Masonic Lodge, the Tyler Jaycees, Hawkins ISD School Board and Holly Lake Rotary Club. He served as the Wood County Precinct 3 justice of the peace, the Hawkins city judge, the Hawkins Chamber of Commerce president, and the assistant fire chief of the Hawkins Fire Department. Larry was also a board member of the Shriner’s Burn Institute in Shreveport, La.
Larry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Virginia; two sisters: Jan Yarbrough (John) of Lindale and Barbara Fletcher of Brownsboro; son John Pack (Amy) of Hawkins; daughters, Glenda Hobbs of Tyler and Tonya Boyd (David) of Lindale; son-in-law, John Dunn of Hawkins; grandchildren, Kristyan Mosley, Katlyn Dunn, Cooper Dunn, Rylee Dunn, Sydnee Pack, Wendy Lynch, William Brown, Amanda Brown, Dylan Boyd, Addison Boyd and Rachel Boyd; great-grandson, Jiraiya Mosley; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, James Oliver Pack; mother, Ollie Ruth Bean Pack; brother, James Edward Pack; and daughter, Jenny Dunn.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10 at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. Services were at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11 at Summit Heights Fellowship, 2340 FM 2869, Hawkins. Interment followed the service at Tyler Memorial Cemetery, 12053 Hwy. 64, Tyler, Texas 75704.
