Posted

Mary Beth Hasz was born to Henri and Edith Tessman in Sycamore, Ill. on March 8, 1941 and went to be her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, while in her home in Alba. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, David; her four children and their spouses, Amy and Brian Smith, Jon and Kelly Hasz, David and Sandy Hasz and Sam and Lisa Hasz; as well as 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters and their husbands, Patty and Tom Sittler and Sandy and Tom Doyle.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Jon Tessman, and her sister, Carol Harding.

Mary Beth was a fabulous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; a tremendous wife; an exceptional teacher; and a gifted counselor. She left an impression on virtually everyone she met. As an elementary and middle school teacher and counselor to college age students, she touched literally thousands of lives. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, her church family at Living Water Fellowship and all of those she ministered to. Most of all she was a lover of Jesus Christ and shared Him at every opportunity. She is walking the streets of heaven today as surely as she impacted each person she encountered during her lifetime.

Mary Beth’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022 at Living Water Fellowship, 2574 FM 2088 in Quitman at 4 p.m. Flowers may be sent to the church. An informal meal will follow. The service will be live streamed.
