The Jake Wilson Memorial Foundation 4th Annual Amateur Open Team Tournament will be held May 1 with headquarters at the Minnow Bucket Marina on State Hwy. 154.

The tournament was organized to celebrate the legacy of Jake Charles Wilson who passed away in August 2017.

Wilson had a passion for fishing, hunting and singing. In his 34 years, he served as a children’s pastor, led praise and worship and worked in a prison ministry.

“Jake was also well-respected in the Gas Pipeline Ministry and made many friends he considered family,” Diane Wilson (his mother) said.

This is a one-day tournament with first prize winning $2,000 and $500 for the biggest bass caught. Cash will be awarded to the top ten finishers. Payout and a meal will be provided by Applied Consultants, Inc. There will be a free kids fishing event (shoreline only) from 10 a.m. to noon.

Proceeds from the event are distributed to selected children’s organizations that advance education and social group participation.
