Mineola and Winnsboro split district ballgames
The Mineola Yellowjackets found a way to win on the road Friday, taking a 72-62 key district victory over the Winnsboro boys.
Though Mineola led most of the contest, it took a strong fourth quarter to secure the win.
The Jackets had a tenuous 54-48 lead heading into the final period but reeled off seven straight points to open the period and help grab the victory.
The Mineola girls found why Winnsboro is ranked second in the state, falling 81-28.
It was 24-4 after one quarter and 47-14 at halftime.
Mineola teams have a bye on Friday and will be at Harmony Feb. 2.
