Thirteen members of the Mineola High School band have earned a spot in the all-region band, and seven will go on to area tryouts Jan. 8, seeking a place in the all-state band.

Mineola band members earn region honors

Thirteen members of the Mineola High School band have earned a spot in the all-region band, and seven will go on to area tryouts Jan. 8, seeking a place in the all-state band.

Region auditions were held Dec. 11, and the region clinic and concert will be Jan. 21-22 in Gilmer.

Emily Miller (flute) advances to 4A area, Melissa Torres (flute), Ali Gonzalez (oboe) advances to 4A area, Anthony Le-Phan (bassoon) advances to 4A area, Aiden Gould (bassoon), Alyssa Loven (clarinet) advances to 3A area, Mariana Delgadillo (clarinet), Jada Woodward (clarinet), Maiyah Gonzalez (clarinet), Maddie Tucker (alto sax) advances to 3A area, Riley Woodward (tenor sax) advances to 4A area, Ali Jordan (trumpet) advances to 3A area, Alex Reyes (tuba).

Riley Woodward also earned a spot in the all-region jazz band, which had its clinic and concert Dec. 3-4 at Pleasant Grove.

The following Mineola Middle School band students were awarded selection to the all-region band.

Cayden Jones - flute, Callee White - oboe , Selena Martinez - clarinet, Leeland Bell - tenor sax (1st chair), Herman Ramirez - tuba, Maria Sarmiento - tuba, Nadiah Martinez - percussion. 

Two others were alternates, Maeson Beck-Barton - clarinet and Isaiah Robledo - bass clarinet.
