Mineola Caring & Sharing reports first fundraising car show a success
The Mineola Caring & Sharing Iron Horse Car Show Sept. 24 was a smashing success, according to President Roy Shockey.
He offered thanks to Jennifer and Kirk Henson for putting the show together and Lizzie and Eric Hayes for assisting and to Ben and Jerretta Pate of Precision Car Wash in Lindale for donating all the trophies.
The car show made over $7,000 which will help to fund the food, stockings and gifts for Mineola families this Christmas, Shockey said.
The next Caring & Sharing fundraisers will be the Brookshires’s raffle tickets for three $200 gift cards, which will be sold in the Brookshire’s parking lot starting at the end of October and the KMOO Radio auction in November.
Oct. 10 is the next volunteer meeting at New Hope Baptist church at 6:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed for both of the remaining fundraisers and for the various committees that affect the success of the Mineola Caring & Sharing Christmas program. Those areas include the collecting of aluminum cans and storage boxes, the food can drive, making and stuffing of stockings, gifts for children, teens, family and senior citizens, Caring trees and distribution day.
To sign up for assistance, go to the Kindness Kottage in Mineola or call Beth and Roy Shockey at 817-475-9840.
