Mineola Civic Center rolls out website update

Posted

Mineola Civic Center, the community gathering place for people of all ages in Mineola, Wood County and the surrounding area, has launched an updated website – www.mineolaciviccenter.com  This new online presence links individuals to information where they can meet, play or stay at the civic center.

The site features an up-to-date event calendar, the ability to book and pay facility rental online, an extensive FAQ page and information about the various facilities, hours and rules along with the history of the center.

Another unique feature is the “donate” page.

“Many citizens in the community believe, incorrectly, the civic center is supported by tax dollars. In reality, the civic center is supported by donations from individuals, corporations, foundations and special event and RV rental income”, said Nancy Murphy, Mineola Civic Center manager. “Our largest contributor is the Meredith Foundation. We would not exist without them and we are grateful for their support.”

With the addition of the “donate” page, individuals can donate online to help support the work of the civic center through the Annual Fund, which supports the daily operations and special projects of the civic center, or the Endowment Fund which preserves the civic center for future generations. Donations can also be mailed or dropped by the civic center office in Meredith Hall.

“The updated website was developed over months of planning with local web developer, Neal Duncan of Duncan Multimedia,” said Murphy.
