Mineola girls shoot first day state golf scores
The Mineola girls golf team of Savannah Lopez, Bransyn Anderson, Valerie Moreland and Sarah Smith shot a 437 team score in the opening round of the state golf tournament Monday.
Anderson had the best round of the first day at 95. Lopez shot 106, Moreland 117 and Smith 119.
Wall led the 12 teams with 332 followed by Odessa Compass Academy at 339.
The two-day Class 3A tournament was held at the Jimmy Clay municipal course in Austin.
The Mineola girls have qualified for the state tournament the past three seasons.
