Mineola schools, in partnership with the Workforce Solutions of East Texas, will host a job fair for students from eight surrounding school districts on Wednesday, March 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the high school gym.

The goal is to have at least 1,000 students attend, geared toward juniors and seniors, to learn from at least 50 booths sponsored by area businesses.

They are encouraged to bring interactive tools that demonstrate what their employees do each day and how they do it.

Students and educators must know what job opportunities exist and the skills required to get them, according to MISD.

The goal is to create awareness of what and where are the local jobs, what skills are needed, what do people do in these jobs, what path should the student take for a specific job, how much education is needed and what do the jobs pay.
