Mineola ISD hosting third Spanish-speaking event

Mineola ISD welcomes all area Spanish-speaking families to the third annual Fiesta event on Friday, April 25.

The event, which is exclusively in Spanish, will be in the Primary School cafeteria starting at 6 p.m. 

This year’s guest speaker is Hispanic American Association of East Texas director Gilbert Urbina Jr., who will discuss immigration law and procedure.

“Immigration is a popular subject and the district wants to provide the most current information possible,” MISD bilingual/ESL coordinator Annette Pecorino said.

Several community resource organizations will be present to provide information and services in Spanish for the attendees.

There will be free childcare, food and prizes at the event.
