Mineola Kiwanians hosting chili cookoff

Mineola Kiwanis Club hosts its annual chili cook off Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Mineola Civic Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For $10, patrons can sample all the chili entries. It includes drink and dessert.

Additional desserts will be sold, and there will be a silent auction as well as a live dessert auction.

The club will also have several varieties of cheese for sale.

Judges will select the best chili and the best decorated booth, and the people’s choice will also be awarded to the entry  with the most votes, based on tips earned.

All proceeds benefit the club’s many projects that benefit the children of Wood County, from scholarships to fee school supplies and student leadership clubs.

Chili entry fee is $25 for businesses, organizations and individuals. Deadline is Feb. 3. Sponsorships are $100, with chili entry and five tickets or no entry and 10 tickets.
