Mineola League of the Arts sets annual fine arts show

The annual Fine Arts Show put on by the Mineola League of the Arts is set April 9-10 at the MLOTA facility at 200 W. Blair St.

Entry deadline is Friday, March 26, with adult entry fee of $8 each and $2 each for juniors. Mail or deliver entry forms to MLOTA by the deadline.

There will not be an awards reception this year.

Divisions include professional, advanced, intermediate and beginner for adults and ages 6-12 and 13-18 for juniors.

Adult categories include oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, drawing, others, abstract, reproduction, sculpture (2 or 3 dimensional) and photography. Juniors categories for all media include landscape/seascape, still life/floral, portrait/figure, animal/other, abstract/contemporary, sculpture/two or three dimensional and photography.

Show exhibition hours are 10-6 April 9 and 10-4 April 10.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
