Mineola Library Notes
Happy Spring! We’ve made it through winter and onto a new season.
A big thank you to the Meredith Foundation for granting us funds to continue serving Mineola. We could not do what we do without their support and the support of the public.
If you would like to support the Mineola Memorial Library, you may drop a donation into either donation banks on the desk or send us a check. You can make a donation in memory or honor of someone who means something to you. You can participate in our fundraisers. There are lots of ways to help the library monetarily.
Do you ever have trouble picking something to read? We have several displays throughout the library to help you decide or to try something new.
We have a flyer about Road Scholar lecture series (www.roadscholar.org/free-series), and we try to set out books that will complement the monthly study.
We have a display following some television book clubs (Reese’s Book Club, Read with Jenna and Good Morning America Book Club) and Mocha Girls Read Book Club. We have some monthly challenges to get you out of your comfort zone or reinforce something you enjoy.
We have monthly displays celebrating things like Women’s History or Texas History, and displays that recognize well-known or not so well-known holidays like St. Patrick’s Day or JJ Watt’s birthday.
And of course, we have two book clubs that we try to provide copies of their readings.
Two of us are getting to attend the annual Texas Library Conference in Dallas. Because of this opportunity, Toddler Story Time, Preschool Story Time and Home-school Heroes will not meet the week of April 1-4. The Crafter group will meet on Saturday, April 5 as planned.
Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donations may be tax-deductible. We’d like to thank the Boswells for their donation to the Mineola Memorial Library.
