Mineola Library Notes

This week, two of us are getting to attend the Texas Library Association’s annual conference.  We will get to visit a number of  vendors and learn of options that are available to libraries; and we will fill our heads with new ideas garnered from networking and visiting with other librarians as well as attending sessions of information. We leave helpful staff and board members to keep the library doors open.

April 6-12 is National Library Week with the theme of Drawn to the Library. What draws you to the Mineola Memorial Library? Is it the variety of materials: books, books on CDs, movies, computer access via stations or WiFi? Is it the programs we offer including Toddler and Preschool Story Times?

Look for a display to let us know what brings you to our library.

Want to know how you can support the Mineola Memorial Library? There’s your use of the library and it’s materials. There’s attending programs. There’s donating funds to the library. This month, there happens to be three ways to financially support our library.

April 18 from 9-4 in the Mineola Memorial Library there will be a cookie sale, just in time for Easter, benefitting the library. The Easter Bunny will visit from 2-4 p.m., and you may take photographs with him using your own camera. Stop by and purchase some cookies and visit with the bunny.

April 26 from 9 a.m.-2:45 p.m. there will be a book sale benefitting the library. This sale will be outside and behind the library. To get to it, you need to park either at the library or in the Methodist church parking lot and walk down the alley to the book sale. This sale is cash only, you determine the value of your purchase (suggested pricing is available), and no change is made.

Finally, Tuesday, April 29 all day is East Texas Giving Day, and the library is one of the participants. You can go on-line and donate to the Mineola Memorial Library and any other participating non-profits.

Wow! That’s a lot of different ways you can financially support the Mineola Memorial Library which is a 501(c)3, non-profit.
