Mineola Memorial Library Notes

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. The library is giving thanks to the Meredith Foundation for giving us a grant for new flooring throughout the library. We like it and think you will like it, too.

We were closed for two weeks in order to unload a section of shelves to allow the floor work to begin. Then we reloaded those shelves to get boxes to unload another section of shelving for more flooring. We had tremendous help from Troop 385 and from various members of the community that helped put books back onto the shelves.

While we were closed we did continue to receive new materials. We will also be getting some more once we reopen and let our vendors know to send our shipments.

East Texas Library Friends book club will meet at the library on Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. to discuss “Long, Bright River.” Join us if you have a minute to discuss this book and to vote on books to read at upcoming meetings.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding for closing the library with just a few days notice. We did try to accommodate due dates. With our closed dates registered in our system, no fines were charged for days we were closed.

The Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3, non-profit and your donations are not only appreciated, they are tax-deductible.
