Mineola Memorial Library Notes
By the time you read this, Thanksgiving should have come and gone. We hope you had an enjoyable holiday. We are certainly thankful for our patrons, staff, board, Friends of the Library and all the others who make what we offer possible.
We would like to thank CNB for hosting another wonderful bake sale benefiting the library.
Our last book sale for the year was this month. No sale in December. The Friends of the Mineola Memorial Library will begin hosting the book sale in 2022. Watch for the next sale on their Facebook page.
On Thursday, Dec. 9, we will host our annual Library Open House and State of the Library address. The address will be at 4 p.m. followed by an opportunity to tour the library and pick up some “thank you” goodies. There will be musical entertainment in the Meredith Room. Santa Claus will be stopping by and will read stories to the children during Pajama Story Time at 6:30 p.m., an event sponsored by the Friends of the Mineola Memorial Library. We are looking forward to seeing everyone.
We will continue to offer Grab and Go activities/experiences on the porch through December. These activities are placed on the porch on Wednesday mornings and last until they are gone.
Toddler Time continues on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. for children 18 months to three years and their parent(s). This is a time to hear a story, participate in an activity, game or song and spend time playing together while parents assist their children and fellowship with each other.
Dec. 11 will have American Girls meeting Josefina, from the territory of New Mexico. This group meets at 10 a.m. and is for girls (age seven and older) and their moms. Reservations/sign-ups are a must. You can do this by calling the library at 903-569-2767 and letting us know you wish to attend. If you don’t sign-up, you’ll miss all the fun.
Heads up for library hours: we will be closed Dec. 24 , 25 and 31 and Jan. 1. We will resume regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 4. In the event of inclement weather, listen to KMOO or check our website or Facebook page.
A donation from the Mineola Community Chest was received. Remember, the Mineola Memorial Library is a 501(c)3 and your donation may be tax-deductible.
