Mineola muralist makes mark at orphanage in Guatemala

Posted

Mineola artist Erica Fry recently traveled to Guatemala to share her gifts with the children of Casa Hogar Agua Azul, an orphanage owned by Ted and Gail Gordon of Bluewater Surrender.

During her visit, Erica painted two vibrant murals that brought joy and color to the orphanage. Her artwork not only beautified the space but also provided a sense of hope and inspiration to the children who call Casa Hogar Agua Azul home.

Ted and Gail Gordon, founders of Bluewater Surrender, are dedicated to providing a loving and supportive environment for the children in their care. Their mission is to raise godly Christian children who will grow up to be successful, contributing members of their communities.

Erica’s contribution to the orphanage is a testament to the power of art to bring people together and make a positive impact on the world. Her murals will serve as a reminder of the love and support that surrounds the children of Casa Hogar Agua Azul.

“I was impressed by the wonderful work Ted and Gail are doing to provide a loving home for these deserving kids,” Fry said. “What struck me most, however, was Gail’s extraordinary generosity and compassion towards the local Guatemalan community. Her selfless efforts to provide for those in need, beyond just the orphanage, left a lasting impression on me.”

In addition to their work at the orphanage, Ted and Gail also organize sailing mission trips to Belize, providing a unique opportunity for people to serve and make a difference in the lives of others.
