Mineola Rotary Club hosts electronic recycling

The Rotary Club of Mineola will hold an electronic recycling event Saturday, July 16 at the Mineola Methodist Ministries Center, 612 N. Newsom, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event is a fundraiser for the club.

Items that will be accepted include these items:

Computers – laptops, desktops, servers, LCD monitors, keyboards, mice, speakers and other components

Cameras – camcorders and all non-disposable film and digital cameras

Office equipment – fax machines, typewriters, inkjet cartridges, printers, scanners, routers, shredders, copiers

Entertainment electronics – car and home audio equipment, satellite and cable boxes, VCRs and DVD players and recorders, headphones, multimedia projectors

Multimedia – DVD and VHS movies, audio books, music CDs (all must include original covers)

Portable electronics – cellphones, GPS devices, calculators, portable CD and DVD players, PDAs, MP3 players

Video games – games, systems and accessories

Donations for recycled items help fund high school scholarships and other community activities.
