Mineola's rail heritage celebrated
Crowds gathered Saturday in downtown Mineola for the annual Iron Horse Heritage Festival put on by the Mineola Chamber of Commerce.
Food and craft vendors and civic groups were among the numerous tents set up to greet the throngs.
Activities included tran robberies by Mineola drama students, extrication demonstrations by the Mineola Fire Dept., Dance Dimensions dancers, live music, and contests such as pie baking, watermelon eating, cutest pet and the ever-popular weenine dog races.
