MLOTA celebrating 30 years for organization and home’s former life as an elementary campus
The Mineola League of the Arts is celebrating 30 years in its permanent home at 200 W. Blair St. in Mineola.
This building spent the first 30 years of its life as Central Elementary School, housing the first and second grades for the students of Mineola between 1958 and 1988. Many of those students are now attending classes at Mineola League of the Arts, although the curriculum is a bit different.
MLOTA wants to celebrate this milestone and honor the history of this building by hosting a reunion and open house for any students or faculty who attended Central Elementary, and all of the members of the community who continue to support the mission at Mineola League of the Arts.
MLOTA would like to hear from anyone who attended or worked at Central Elementary.
Pictures, stories, history and other memorabilia are needed to display during this event, which will be held this fall at the Mineola League of Arts.
Contact MLOTA by email at mlota@sbcglobal.net, calling 903-569-8877 or stop by the office at 200 W. Blair Street.
