Murder mystery to benefit non-profits

Posted

For the second year, Lake Country Playhouse and the Pilot Club of Mineola are joining forces to raise funds for their local projects.

“Strictly Come Murder” is this year’s production, which features the long-running TV series, “Seriously Dancing” which has brought ballroom dancing back into the average viewer’s dining room.  Unfortunately, the popular host, Bruce Falseteeth, is murdered. The audience will have to discover who killed him.  Fun and sleuthing will fill the night!

Mark calendars for Saturday, April 10 at the Mineola Civic Center. The Pilot Club will have a drawing for some great prizes including a bundle of gift cards, a package from Mineola Meat Packing, a Vera Bradley purse, a wine basket, East Texas Yard Art Greetings by Abby Hooton, a child’s party at East Texas Twisters and several other items to be announced later.

Tickets for the drawing will be $2 and will be available before and during dinner. In a live auction, two Adirondack chairs crafted by Glen Dossett and a wine basket and trip donated by Charlie and Linda Fry will be up for grabs.

The MHS Anchor Club, which is a service organization sponsored by the Mineola Pilot Club, will have their “Pretty Purses” for sale for $20 each. The group will hold a drawing from numbers on the purses, and the winner will receive a designer handbag. The Anchors will use proceeds from this event for their service projects and leadership training.

In addition, this will be the last chance for the sale of wine stoppers and pens from the Pilot Club.  Tickets to the event are $35, and reservations may be made by calling Diane Holmes at 903-343-7570 or any Pilot member.

Seating is limited this year so don’t wait too long to make reservations. Dinner will be served by the Red Dome Smokehouse. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. on April 10.
