Plans are underway, and applicants are streaming in for the 2022 in-person East Texas Chapter Master Naturalist classes.

Starting on Tuesday, Jan. 25 from 6-9 p.m. at the Tyler Nature Center and continuing through April, experts in their fields will gather to enlighten and train a new group of master naturalists.

Topics such as entomology, geology, herpetology, wetland and forest ecology, land management and much more will help prepare the class members for volunteerism in the field of natural resources.

Texas Master Naturalist is a non-profit statewide program sponsored by Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, whose mission is to develop a corps of well-trained volunteers to provide education, outreach and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources in East Texas and beyond.

New this year will be the return to in-person classes at the Tyler Nature Center, 11942 FM 848. More than 40 hours of classroom and in-the-field study is offered.  For more information and an application, go to http://txmn.org/etwd/.
