Neighbors betters own record to win Texas Relays

Tierany Neighbors captured first place in the pole vault at the Texas Relays in Austin Friday, and in the process extended the personal best and Mineola school record she set recently.

Neighbors cleared 13’5.25” on her first try to win Division A, beating vaulters from larger schools.

Three were tied for second place at 13’1.5”.

The Mineola girls also competed in the 4x400-meter relay, posting the 25th best time of 4:07.95.

Joining Neighbors were Raylie Peebles, Olivia Hughes and Carmen Carrasco.

They are competing in this week’s district meet Wednesday and Thursday in Eustace.
