Panthers come back to defeat North Hopkins
North Hopkins scored early but Alba-Golden rallied late to get the baseball road victory 16-14 last Thursday.
A scoreless first bellied the final outcome. North Hopkins broke on top with seven runs in the second inning and stretched the lead to 8-0 before the Panthers tied things with an eight-run fourth.
North Hopkins retook the lead 10-8 in the bottom of the frame, but Alba-Golden had another big rally in the fifth to grab the lead 14-10.
The Panthers added a pair in the top of the seventh that proved to be the difference, as North Hopkins plated four before the final out was called.
North Hopkins had the edge in hitting, 14-13, but also had seven errors to Alba-Golden’s five.
Kason Trimble collected three Panther hits and Hatch Campbell two. Nick Hallman drew a pair of walks. Chelton Cook drove in five Panther runs.
Trimble got in three and two-thirds innings of work on the mound.
