Posted

Patricia Sue Horner of Mt. Vernon entered into eternal life on Nov. 12, 2021. She was born on Sept. 27, 1942 in Cooper to O.L. and Lillian Turner Meadlin. Patricia was the youngest of their 10 children.

She worked as a mail carrier for the postal service and for many years worked as a self-employed tax specialist. Mrs. Horner was loved by her family and will be deeply missed. She was a faithful servant to God and a member of Abundant Grace Assembly of God in Mt. Vernon. Football season had her attention on the clock, and if her husband Rev. Horner didn’t speed things up from the pulpit you might find her out the door to watch the start of her beloved Dallas Cowboys. Pat played the piano in the church and shared that joy with her daughter, Deana.

Mrs. Horner was preceded in death by her parents, O.L. and Lillian Meadlin, and husband, Rev. Johnny L. Horner.

She is survived by her son, Jerald Horner and wife Elaine; daughter, Deana Van Story; daughter, Darla Posey and husband Rodney; five grandchildren, Denae Kane and husband Daniel, Jessica Denise Van Story, Jonathan Posey, Mark Horner and Emily Horner; sisters, Madeline Little, Lina Mae Ransome and Billie Ann Stout and husband Henry. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
